We hope this will enable us to gather and share some useful context and insights from across industries, roles, locations, and levels of maturity in addressing these issues. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused jarring, unprecedented changes in the way we live and work. Although these changes were initially assumed to be temporary, we’ve now been living with this new reality for several months. Proactive companies and organizations are considering the longer-term effects on their employees, customers and other stakeholders, and they are adjusting their workplaces, working arrangements and management strategies.
This pandemic doesn’t exist in a vacuum, though. Infection rates and responses both influence and are influenced by a host of social, environmental, economic, cultural and other dynamics. This "intersectionality" of issues creates an environment that can affect individuals and organizations in ways we may not yet understand fully.
We have been developing a Toolkit—including assessments and other resources—to help companies and other organizations "Reimagine” their New Normal, in light of the pandemic and its intersectionality with these other issues. Some of the topics covered include: the challenges and benefits of working from home; managing a remote or partially-remote workforce; the complexities of reopening workplaces; and the intersectionality with other social and economic issues.
