Cath Kane,

Senior Director


Cath Kane is a qualified Community Education worker with a background in community safety programs and gender-based violence (GBV) in the UK.  While running community outreach programs in Scotland, she held the position of women’s services representative (2000–2002) in the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Working Group to Address Violence Against Women. 

While in London Cath has held the position of strategic lead officer in 3 local government offices in central London.  In those roles she was responsible for strategy, policy and provision addressing GBV.   She was recognised by the Mayor’s Office London (2006) and The Ministry of Justice (2008) for the production of two educational films centralising survivors’ experiences of domestic and sexual violence and inter agency interventions. 

Since 2011, Cath has worked as an independent consultant with local government, housing sector, Not for Profits and the Mayor’s Office in London. Recent projects include redesigning access to rape crisis provision across London, pioneering multi-agency partnerships to address high risk stalking behaviour and GBV Specialist and Advisor (#metoo project), Social Work Department, University of Toronto. 


Cath is a Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) chair and trainer. She delivered the Home Office Commissioned training to DHR chairs across England in 2013. She is a member of the International Community of Practice for the Study of Domestic Homicides. 


Cath is a professional coach specialising in empowerment and leadership evolution and founder of her signature programme ‘Unshakeable Ambition’. Cath has been using coaching techniques as a core component of her management practice for over 15 years.  Cath is a member of the International Coaching Federation and works to their code of ethics.   


Cath has worked directly with women, children and young people affected by violence and abuse for over 20 years.   She has extensive experience in the development and delivery of survivor-centered multi-agency initiatives, addressing risk in intimate partner violence, familial violence, stalking, sexualized violence and coercive control. Central to her approach is culture change that challenges victim blaming and supports non-specialist services offer safer interventions to survivors and their children.
